Sooo sorry about the blog delay, things have been crazy busy trying to get back to the visually UNappealing and freezing state of good ol' Iowa...as you can already assume, I am already missing the beautiful sights and warmth of the west...but I'm now at least in driving distance of my schweety!!
Here's a quick recap of the highlights of my Sin City experience and the journey home:
- Starting it off with a road trip from Scottsdale to Vegas with my sista, seeing the infamous Hoover Dam on the way of course :) Enjoyed sitting by the pool, walking the strip and shopping of course!
- Flying back for Skeet's wedding
- Time with the Bentons: Definitely made some memories that I will cherish forever, getting teary-eyed just thinking about it! Here are some of my favorites:
- Riley's delayed "hiiiii" every morning when I came downstairs for breakfast
- Football weekends with Russ
- Dance parties and ripping up paper with Mason and Riley...haha don't ask!
- Going to Peep Show and Tournament of the Kings with Mindy...and finishing the night off with a "Sex and the City" martini of course!
- Lots of wine with Mindy to unwind from the day at the bank and clinic
- Hanging out by the pool with the Bentons...including Arrow of course!
- Various expeditions: Exploration Park, SportZone trampoline extravaganza, and bike riding to the donut shop
- Gambling with Uncle Mike and Mindy at Red Rock Resort
- Strip weekend with Scotty and Cook...and Scotty's dad...no comment :)
- Lake Las Vegas with my Schweety!
- Finishing up Clinical #2 - One more to go!! Working as the athletic trainer for the 2 week NBA Competitive Training Series was definitely the highlight of this clinical. Got to work many amazing athletes including John Wall (no, he unfortunately did not teach me how to dougie), Chauncey Billups, Rashard Lewis, Mo Williams, Dahntay Jones, Jamaal Tinsley (gave me sooo much crap for being a Hawkeye!), Jared Dudley and the list goes on and on....
- Back to Iowa for Operation Surprise Weekend and Vance's 27th bday!
- Quality time with Pops and Trav: Wow, what a journey it was with those two! Started the week off with a few days in Vegas, pit stop in Grand Junction, couple of days in Denver, and then finally back to the midwest. Many, many highlights :)
- First night in Sin City: up til 7AM gambling...enough said :)
- Our beautiful hotel (The Cosmopolitan) compliments of Travy
- Walking the strip, eating good food, and drinking wayyyy too much!
- Horseback riding in Grand Junction: Dad's "horse" was super gassy...we all know the truth pops so don't deny it!! Travy's horse was in no mood for a horseback ride!
- Denver! Seeing Sista and Scotty's new home and spending some quality time with them in their new big city! Already ready to come visit!
- The car ride: rediculous conversations, awful smells (Pops! haha), and beautiful sightseeing!
Well I know I'm missing a lot but it's a little challenging trying to wrap up the past 10 weeks in 1 post! And now, the count down begins...9 more weeks til graduation, the holidays, and FINALLY reunited with my hubby in our new home in Chicago....CAN'T WAIT!! :)
